      What is SourceTree Analyzer?

SourceTree Analyzer is a small yet, fast and extremely powerful utility which will enable you to quickly and efficiently track changes between different revisions of document trees such as source code, websites and electronic publications formats increasing productivity for disconnected collaborative development, backup management and source code version tracking.

Be sure to check out the features below!

SourceTree Analyzer can also be used effectively to monitor the differences between mirrored data, for example examining the changes between backups or keeping production and development/testing servers in sync and reports can be stored in either html or text format for later use.

The document trees can be present on a local hard drive, removable media (such as Zip disk or CDROM) or available over a network.

      Whats new in v2002?

While core functionality is now faster than ever in the latest version, some radical new features have been included allowed for easier folder comparisons and greater flexibility in report management.

SourceTree Analyzer can now create compressed distributable executables or 'Updaters' which, when run, update the old source tree to the new one. Perfect for multiple developers who always need to be using an up-to-date revision. Updaters are entirely self extracting and need minimal user interaction. They can be emailed directly from SourceTree Analyzer without the need to use another email client.

Reports, in either text or HTML formats, can also be emailed directly from the application.

An internal file viewer and many other enhancements including integration with WinDiff for visual comparison of files have been included.

  •   So what exactly is an Updater?

If you are using SourceTree Analyzer to compare two revisions of a tree, you may wish to update the old tree so it is exactly the same as the new one. This is a tedious task at the best of times, however imagine if you have to update the same tree in several locations, and imagine you also have a LOT of data, not just a file or two.

The Updaters allow you to capture all the differences between the two trees and package them into a single file with optional compression, which will update the old tree. Creating the Updater is a simple matter of a few keystrokes. This executable can then be used anywhere to make the changes and can even be used to create simple installers.

      Obtaining a Demo Version

A free evaluation version is available from our download page.

The demo version of SourceTree Analyzer will only provide accurate analysis for trees with 5 files or less each; any files going above that limit in a single tree will be ignored. It is also impossible to produce Updaters with the demo version.

The full version is limited only by your computers memory and has been tested with over 100,000 files in a tree. SourceTree Analyzer, when running on a reasonably modern computer with 128mb of RAM will most likely handle several million files per tree.
